I would like to be the first (or at least one of many) to say that Texas Tech made a horrible mistake by firing Mike Leach as their head football coach. I can see Tech losing both potential recruits and most of their games next year. It seems that the choice to fire Leach was based on allegations only and heavily influenced by the fact that the parent involved in the incident is an ESPN college football analyst. Clearly, due process did not occur.
Therefore, I have a proposal that I would now like submit to the athletic department and administration at Arizona State University, my alma mater. As current and former Sun Devils know, our football coach Dennis Erickson has not performed at any level worth mentioning since he arrived in Tempe. He has taken a fairly consistent bowl attending team and given them two years of losing records. Likewise, he has not attracted highly skilled players to the program.
That is why I would like to officially mention that Mike Leach is first on mylist for an immediate replacement for Dennis Erickson. Leach has years of experience in very successful programs. He is a student of the game of football and would be able to bring a formidable west coast offense to ASU and help them compete in a strong conference.
The Sun Devils could capitalize on Texas Tech’s bad decision. Any way you look at it, ASU comes out on top.
