With March right around the corner, I can’t stop debating who is going to be this years’ George Mason. Here are some squads I think can make a run at Indianapolis’ Final Four:
Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Siena, BYU and New Mexico are some ranked/unranked teams that have a shot this upcoming March.
Let me see who you think has a chance to be 2010′s biggest bracket buster.

UNLV may have just lost to New Mexico, but I really like how they play with a chip on their shoulder. It’s gonna be a dogfight in that conference championship game between the Lobos and the Runnin’ Rebels.
UNLV will definitely make the Mountain West Conference Conference final and interesting game, but I don’t think that conference is strong enough to produce more than one Cinderella-like team. However, for that one spot, New Mexico and UNLV are interchangeable at this point. Thanks for the feedback!
Maryland will make a run late in the season to get into the tourney. Also, don’t count UCONN out.
UCONN definitely deserved to be mentioned, but it was their streaky play that left me to leave them out. In similar fashion to what I said to Nick Matter above, Maryland can easily be in place on Virginia Tech in my post. It’s why we play the game!
I was excited to check your website and see you posted another story. I agree with the content and love how you can captivate a reader with only several sentences.
Thanks Sam, it means a lot. I’m not a fan of writing the short articles, but I was curious as to what teams people thought would be playing down the stretch. I also could have left out a rallying Louisville team who is on the bubble.
I can tell you one team that won’t be a bubble team and that’s Villanova. Their a sure fire bet to be around late March. Also, I love how O.J. Mayo is in the picture for this article. Nice Touch.
this is very funny to look back and see the teams we all predicted to make a run at this years Final Four. Looks like I was wrong about every sleeper team.
